Tropicante, Japan's strongest Cuban salsa band, boasts a powerful brasssection of 2 trumpets, 2 saxophones and a trombone, enabling the group to express a Latin big band sound with an authentic Cuban feel.
This sound has a Latin-influenced contemporary jazz feel based on the "son" and heavily flavored with other Cuban rhythms such as the mambo, cha cha cha, rumba and Afro.
The main attraction of Tropicante is its combination of Cuban-style jam sessions or descargas, which make full use of the individual qualities of each highly talented band member, and its highly infectious, danceable music.
Luis Valle not only leads the refined playing of the band members with his outstanding trumpet playing, he also foments a Cuban groove that would outshine that of many bands from his home country.
With a vocal punch like his brother Yumuri (a popular Cuban singer), Luis is able to put on a novel and exciting show that thrills audiences.
